English for Aviation: A two-week course for Pilots, Air Traffic Control, Ground Staff and other Aviation Specialists

Course Structure

An 80-hour intensive group course, over two weeks, for a maximum of 6 Aviation professionals.

The course runs from 09.00 to 17.00, Monday to Friday.

Trainers are all experienced professionals in this area.

There is an opportunity for contact and collaboration with the flight training academy of a British Airline Company, which is situated 15 minutes from Accent International's UK Centre

For those who wish, Accent can arrange for an examination at ICAO level 4 or 5.

Course Content

The core content will cover six of the language areas for the ICAO, namely: pronunciation, structure, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension and interaction within an aviation context.

In addition, the course will focus on some or all of the following, depending on the interests of the participants:

• Describing structure and maintenance of different aircraft types.
• Describing layouts and facilities of airports.
• Language of flying.
• Aviation theory in English.
• Meterology.
• Navigational theory.
• In-flight communication.
• Emergency situations.

Admission Criteria

Age: 23 minimum

Minimum English Level: Intermediate

Course Price

£2500* per person per two-week programme.

This includes all daily transportlunch with trainers in pubs/restaurants, full social programme, materials, daily refreshments, end of course report etc.

*Course price does not include accommodation.


Available in Executive Host Families, Hotels or Apartments from £325 per week.
